I have been using kaledo style to create a final design of my 1950's cocktail dress. I have used a pleated collar and a peplum waist on the dress for a modern take on the 50's.

NTA 2013
The National television awards are always a great way for celebs to show off the latest designer frock. Each on wants to stand out from the crowd and be in the most amazing dress! There was glitz and glamour along with metallic's all formed into beautiful silhouettes . It was a night for female role models to show off their figures and their hard work on TV over the past year. What could be better than wearing a stunning dress and picking up an award?!

fashiontoast post.

I love this blog post its really quirky and vintage and gives a really cute wintery effect, the little fairy lights around the window create an almost gingerbread house like feel to the photos. It feels like early evening in a little village and her outfit reflects the perfect feel in the photo.

Fashion...
The biggest question is, WHAT IS IT?
Fashion is something you follow but style is something that comes within, something as an individual some have it and some don't. Many believe fashion is wearing the latest styles off the catwalk, walking round in designer brands and this is very true fashion is something you follow, but to have style is showing who you are through what you wear.
So what is the point in following 'fashion' should we all wear the same clothes and look like fashion clones or all find our own individual style.
I believe fashion is something you follow but to have style is finding yourself and showing it through what you wear, this could depend on the music you listen to, the films you like and even the season. Many stereotype through this, they're wearing a tracksuit, they're a chav, they wear leggings and crop tops, they're a slag, they're in black, they're a goth but people do this stereotyping because they believe they're not in a certain 'click', the point is it doesn't matter what you think because they have a style.
So what started fashion, where did it originate, people didn't go shopping for the latest styles they went for clothes, for an item they needed for a particular reason, but if we think back fashion has always existed through time what people have worn has changed from the sophisticated 50's to the edgy 60's, hippy 70'd, disco 80's and since the 90's fashions have begun mixing and changing what has been worn through time but using new materials.
I LOVE FASHION (:

Blogs I Love
GetaLife - A very simple blog and has posts about what Vivienne has been doing and her opinions on it. I love the posts on Climate resolution especially the 26th of September.
Fashiontoast - This blog has lots of fashion images holding different styles and giving people advice etc, these posts then have opinions and quotes. The post suitcase style in the desert is really quirky and I love how everything on there is fashion related.
StyleSlicker - 'cool clothes with a conscience' really nice post with autumn images using leaves, really quirky and fun.
Zoella - Really vintage looking blog, very girly and sweet. The post by her, just say yes, just say there's nothing holding you back has a really nice image and she speaks about how we shouldn't let anything hold us back.
WhoWhatWear - An amazing fashion blog about celebrities, what they're wearing and their opinions on the items, there are also trend reports and then a post about the look of the day which is a really good idea.

Pop Art
I have created a piece of work in the style of Andy Warhol. I chose this image of Angelina Jolie, opened it in Photoshop and then used the 'stamp effect' to create a black and white image. I then printed this on acetate and added in chunks of colour to certain areas. This is similar to his famous image of the queen where I have used the squares of pink to add in some tone. I wanted to pick out areas like her eyes, lips and nails to create a really quirky effect, I did this by ripping the colours to create abstract shapes making her feature look less perfect and more pop art-ish.

On the second image I changed round some of the colours to see how the image looked in a different style. I think it looks a little bland and the strawberry she is eating hasn't come out as well as expected and it is hard to tell what it is, maybe with more positive areas showing through more of the texture from it would show up.
